What is Crowland Parish Plan ?
The Crowland Parish Plan gives us an opportunity to say what we want to achieve for our community. Its purpose is to make Crowland a better place to live in the short, medium and long term.  The Plan can include anything that is relevant to the people that live and work here, eg transport, recreation, housing, youth provision, protection of our rural community etc.
It will identify what people value, as well as problems and opportunities in the Town. It will quantify how residents want the community to develop and will identify actions needed. All this information will then be incorporated into a public document – the Crowland Parish Plan.

What do you feel is most important for the future of Crowland ?

New banner on Postland Road
Some of you will hopefully have noticed our banner at the crowland service station. We now have a further promotional banner placed on Postland Road thanks to the generosity of Mr Phil Jesney who has allowed us to place the banner in a prominent position on his garden fence! Big thanks to Phil!

With help from the Town Society Group  we have compiled a historical gallery which shows how Crowland has changed over the years. Its quite an eye opener !. We would like to thank Town Society  for their support.
Four fifths of those
surveyed said
Felt that Crowland’s people and appearance was its biggest asset. That was the findings of the Crowland Parish Plan’s initial survey, conducted over the summer. The most common responses included community spirit, friendly people, village and rural character and the open spaces as what they liked best about the town.
Development of the town, and provision for children and young people emerged as the two areas where people felt Crowland could improve, closely followed by community safety and leisure as other issues needing attention.
In total 152 people responded to the survey. “Though this was fewer than we hoped for, we were really pleased with the cross-section of the community that responded, with most of the age categories being well represented,” the Parish Plan’s Steering Group commented.
“We’re particularly pleased with the number of young people (11 to 17) that responded, and what was perhaps a little surprising is that their concerns were broadly the same as the other age groups.”
What could be improved?
Under the broad headings of Development, Youth, Safety & Security, and Leisure, a large number of similar responses emerged. The most common are set out below.
Those surveyed were also asked what they thought could be improved at little or no costs. The Parish Plan Steering Group admit that this was a question that many felt challenging, but felt it would be interesting to see what came up. The entire list will be looked at in terms of feasibility, with the Parish Council and other agencies, but a selection are printed below:
Aim of the plan
The aim of the Parish Plan is to create a document that captures the views and aspirations of the community, which can be used by community groups or the parish council to draw funding and resources into the community.
Though its name suggests otherwise, the Plan is not developed by the parish council, but by volunteers from across the community.
We’re very conscious that Crowland is quite isolated within Lincolnshire, with centres such as Deeping and Holbeach being difficult for some to get to. Peterborough is more of a natural centre for some of the population, for work, shopping or recreation.
“Therefore, we feel it is vital that Crowland raises its voice, so that it doesn’t miss out on resources going to communities such as Deeping, Spalding and Holbeach. The Parish Plan gives us an opportunity to do that, as has been done elsewhere in Lincolnshire, but its strength is dependent upon the amount of people that express
